In Reach understands that finding community support and services is important to families and individuals. With this in mind, this section is meant to provide a listing of organizations that provide various services. Programs should be contacted directly for more detailed information. This information does not serve as an endorsement of any individual organizations, agencies or the quality of services.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY ORGANIZATIONS

Community Advocates for Family and Youth, www.cafyonline.org , offers human services focused on educating families and youth, empowering communities to action and embracing victims of crime. They have several teen programs and work with at-risk youth through an alternative to suspension program and this year we have labeled Group-LIFE.

El Shaddi Care Center, www.elshaddi.org, was established to educate and support the Prince George's community by providing a menu of direct services, forums, and programs which promote healthy sexuality and lifestyle.

Men Aiming Higher, www.menaiminghigher.org , is a broad-based collaborative intiative to improve the lives of young people, mentoring them as they complete their education and achieve economic self-sufficiency through the development of empowerment skills and meaningful employment.

Take Charge Juvenile Diverson Program, Inc., www.takechargeprogram.org is a 501c3 non-profit specializing in juvenile gang and crime prevention, intervention, and family strengthening program.

TeensExpress, www.teensexpress.org, teaches and develops teens into leaders trained to teach & change lives through the Arts.

The Training Source, www.thetrainingsource.org, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community - based organization whose mission is to provide superior training on state-of-the-art equipment and methodologies to meet individual and workplace development needs.

The SOFEI Group, www.sofeigroup.org, is a nonprofit organization that empowers women of the Washington region to gain economic independence through education, training and development.

Women in Engineering (WIE), www.eng.umd.edu/wie, program at the University of Maryland is dedicated to the recruitment and retention of women engineering students at the pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate levels.

World Arts Focus, www.worldartsfocus.org, is a 501(c)(3) charitable arts organization whose mission is to promote participation and practice in dance, movement, and performing arts traditions from around the world, using the arts as a tool for revitalizing community.

MARYLAND ORGANIZATIONS

Advocates for Children and Youth (ACY), www.acy.org, identifies problems, promote policies and programs that improve results for Maryland children in measurable and meaningful ways, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and policies for the state's children and youth.

Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT), www.mbrt.org, founded in 1992, is a coalition of more than 100 leading employers that have made a long-term commitment to support education reform and improve student achievement in Maryland.

Maryland Coalition of Families for Children's Mental Health, www.mdcoalition.org, is dedicated to improving services for children with mental health needs and their families and building a network of information and support for families across Maryland.

Maryland Mentoring Partnership (MMP), www.marylandmentors.org, is an advocate, clearinghouse and expert resource for the advancement of youth mentoring statewide.

The After-School Institute, www.afterschoolinstitute.org, is a Baltimore-based capacity-building organization. Our mission is to provide after-school programs with the training and support they need to offer children and youth quality after-school and out-of-school opportunities.
